INDECENT EXPOSURE.
Alexander Smith was charged with indecent conduct in Gladstone Park, [Balmain], on the 12th inst, in the presence of several young girls. A quantity of evidence was taken, and Mr Isaacs decided that the charge was proved, and sentenced accused, on account of his previous good conduct, to three months’ gaol, with hard labor. On the application of Mr Brown, who appeared for accused, the sentence was suspended under the first offenders’ clauses, the magistrate saying that the finding of bondsmen, and remaining under surveillance for a year, would probably be a greater deterrent than a short term of imprisonment.
