CRIMINAL.
———

…
Before Judge Backhouse, at the Sydney Quarter Sessions.
…
A boy of very youthful appearance—so much so that his Honor doubted his statement that his age was over 16 years—named Frederick Joseph [or James] Williams was charged that, on August 15, 1915, [sic] he did, at Sydney, commit an [indecent] offence. He pleaded not guilty. The evidence against him was that of younger boys, [Henry Henderson Munday ], and his Honor, on the ground of lack of corroboration, suggested acquittal. The jury added to this verdict a rider that the boy should be kept under the supervision of the Crown.
