ATTEMPRED UNNATURAL OFFENCE.

Joseph Moulds, [58], pleaded guilty when charged with having attempted to commit an unnatural offence, [bestiality with a cow], at Glenorie on March 14.

It was stated that accused, for whom Mr FW Todhunter appeared, had always been simple-minded.

“However beastly the act,” said His Honor, “it was the act of a harmless, simple-minded. It was not done in a shocking way; nor was there any public scandal. Under the circumstances, I have decided to give accused the benefit of the First Offenders’ Act .”

A sentence of nine months’ hard labor in Parramatta Gaol was suspended accordingly.
