DOCTOR’S DEATH.
———◦———
OVERDOSE OF MORPHINE.
———
An inquest was held yesterday by the City Coroner (Mr Fletcher) concerning the death of Dr Charles George Gordon Moodie, aged 41 years, of 81 Darlinghurst-road, Darlinghurst, who was found dead in his bed on June 2. A glass containing a white fluid, was found on a table alongside the bed.
Dr Arthur Aubrey Palmer, Government medical officer, said that, in his opinion, death was due to poisoning by morphine. In answer to a question, he stated that a person who, having taken an injection of morphine, found that it was not giving him an alleviation, and took some more by the mouth. Even if he were a medical man, it would be possible for him to do that.
Mr Fletcher found that Moodie died from the effects of an excessive quantity of morphine, probably administered accidentally.

PROPOSED AUSTRALIAN
ASSOCIATION.
——
The formation of a representative Australian Law Association is at present under consideration.
The objects of the proposed association are to advance the study of law, to improve its administration, to maintain the traditions and uphold the standards of the profession, and generally to increase its public usefulness.
The president (Mr MAH Fitzhardinge) and secretary (Mr E Newton Daly) of the Incorporated Law Institute of New South Wales yesterday had an interview on the question with the Attorney-General (Mr Latham).
Mr Latham said that a considerable body of support had already been accorded the proposal, and it had been decided between the Attorney-General and those who represented the Law Institute, that more definite proposals should be prepared for the consideration of those interested.
