ATTEMPTED OFFENCE.

    Harold Phillips, 31, traveller, was charged with committing a serious offence on a boy, [William James Christopher McGrath], at Sydney on January 15. He was alternatively charged with indecent assault. Mr TP McMahon (instructed by Messrs RD Meagher and Co) appeared for the accused, who was convicted of an attempted serious offence, with a recommendation to mercy on account of his previous good character, and remanded for sentence.
