REGISTRATION OF BUTCHERS
SHOPS.
———◦———

Mr AC McEwan, president of the Cumberland Retail Master Butchers’ Association, stated last night that all butchers shops should be licensed and registered. The shops, he said, should be placed under the control of the Meat Board, which should have authority to appoint officials instead of the government. There was not the slightest doubt that the cost of meat to the public would be considerably reduced under this proposal, which would be readily supported by the majority of the trade.
