INDECENT EXPOSURE.
Albert Starr 2 pleaded guilty to a charge of indecent exposure in view of the road on September 11th.
Constable Ramsay stated at 3.30 pm the defendant was in the Sunday school grounds at Bulli and was near the girls’ lavatory. As the girls came down defendant indecently exposed himself. This had been going on for several Sundays.
The defendant said he had had a few drinks, but Constable Maher contradicted this.
In sentencing the defendant to six months’ imprisonment, the SM said there was too much of this going on and it would have to be stopped.

OFFENCE AGAINST DECENCY.
————
Albert Starr was charged with indecent exposure at Bulli, on 21st instant.
He pleaded not guilty.
Segt Standen gave evidence that, in consequence of a complaint, he went to the miners’ monument, in Park Rd, Bulli, near the Church of England, where he saw the exposure as complained of. Witness told him of complaints lodged, defendant denying the offence. Defendant was then arrested.
In reply to the Magistrate, the Sergeant said defendant had previously been convicted of stealing, vagrancy, and indecent exposure (twice), and the Sergeant added defendant was a menace to children in particular.
The Magistrate emphasised the serious nature of such an offence. He convicted defendant, but ordered that he be released on entering into a bond of £10, with one surety of £10, to be of good behaviour for 12 months, in default to be imprisoned for three months.

“A MENACE TO YOUNG
CHILDREN”
Albert Starr was charged with an offence against decency near the monument, adjoining Park Road, Bulli on Feb. 21st. He pleaded not guilty.
Sergeant Standen stated on Feb. 21st he was at Bulli Police Station and received a certain complaint. He went to the miner’s monument near Park Road, where he saw defendant sitting down. Witness walked over and as he came closer saw defendant’s clothing disarranged. Witness then detailed particulars of the offence. Defendant said he was reading and denied the allegations. He was taken to the police station and charged.
Defendant did not offer any evidence.
There were two previous convictions each of six months for similar offences in 1927 and 1930.
Sergeant Standen said the man was a menace to young children. When arrested, defendant was quite close to the Sunday school. In the interests of these children something should be done to keep this man away from them. Unfortunately the present charge could not be laid under the Vagrancy Act.
The SM: This is a very serious offence.
In substitution of a penalty the SM ordered defendant to enter in a bond of self and one surety of £10 each to be of good behaviour for 12 months, in default three months imprisonment.
