MAITLAND CIRCUIT COURT.

Monday, April 9.

(Before His Honor Justice Cohen.)
————

The Court re-opened at the Courthouse, East Maitland, at 10 o’clock this morning.

SENTENCES.

Anthony Moore, who was found guilty of a charge that he did at Merewether, on February 4, 1906, wilfully expose his person, was brought up for sentence.
His Honor said the offence of which the prisoner was convicted was a most revolting one. Unfortunately it was not the first time he had been convicted of a similar offence. The public must be protected from exhibitions of gross indecency. The prisoner had been convicted of a similar offence 20 years ago. He could not say how far the prisoner was responsible for his actions, but he would send him to prison for a period that would enable him to be under close medical observation. The sentence of the Court would be that he be imprisoned in Grafton Gaol for a period of nine months.
